Home< Families & Wondergy< Party Time!

The world is full of neat toys.
The hardest part is choosing which ones to play with first.
Here are some that are perfect for birthday parties, bar/bat mitzvoh, and more!

Wonder About Everything

CoolScience
Hammer a nail into solid wood with a banana? Blow up a balloon... from the outside? Explore how matter changes from solid to liquid to gas with liquid nitrogen. At 320 degrees below zero, it's the coolest stuff around!

COOLSCIENCE has many options to best suit your event. Having a Bar Mitzvah, Havdallah, Scout crossing over, or other change of state? This program can be tailored to relate the meaning of the event to what's physically happening in our program. Things really can change but remain the same; scientists call them physical changes.

Topics: Molecules, Thermal Motion, Heat Transfer, Evaporative Cooling, Air Pressure, Density, Physical Changes.

Time:
45-60 minute demonstration

Audience:
Up to 75 per group

Ages:
4 to Adult

Wonder About Everything

Project: Ice Cream
Help us bring together fresh cream, milk, flavorings of your choice, and of course, liquid nitrogen to make the freshest homemade ice cream you've ever tasted.

Variation: Freezing Hot Cotton Candy
While Nitrogen may boil at 320F below zero, sugar's bonds are so strong that it freezes around 300F above zero! A family festival favorite, enjoy "freezing hot" cotton candy with your "boiling cold" ice cream.

Variation: Fire & Ice
For a decadent contrast to CoolScience, explore chemical changes with edible fire! Enjoy a dazzling sweet flambe atop homemade ice cream specially made to balance on the palate.

Variation: Density
Make bowling balls float and helium balloons sink, and discover what keeps the air up.

Available CoolScience Party Favors (Call for Pricing):
Freezing Hot Hand Warmers - great for fall and winter events. Neck Coolers - Keep cool on a hot day. These neck-ties do the sweating for you!

Have some of your guests already seen CoolScience? Then let's take it a step further. Just because our nitrogen disappeared doesn't mean it can't be strong stuff. We'll make bowling balls float, helium baloons sink, shrink guests' heads (sort-of), light our hands on fire, and play with density and air pressure!

Note: Everything can be Kosher, non-dairy or vegan on request. We usually avoid peanuts, and we haven't met an allergy we can't accommodate.

LaserScience
Spark your guests imaginations with a high-power computer-animated laser show! You're invited for a backstage tour of the science behind laser projection. We'll bring the rock music, lasers, lights, and fog to present an interactive show you'll never forget.

Variation: Custom Laser Show Design
From Pink Floyd to your Scouts' names to your company's logo, let our lasers animate what is important to you. A great way to get more out of LaserScience at Blue and Gold banquets, town events, and science fairs.

ElectriScience

ElectriScience
Make big things happen by playing with some of the smallest stuff around: electrons! From home-grown green power to a classic hair raising experience, we're positive you'll get charged up with science – literally. There's so much we can do with electricity, so each ElectriScience program is custom-built to fit your group's ages, sizes, and background knowledge. Explore concepts including the basics of electricity, current, generation, circuits, and power. For more in-depth exploration, make it an electric series! ElectriScience can span two or three sessions, each with plenty of wows. Caution, contents may explode!

Topics: Green energy, electricity generation, current electricty, static electricity, circuits, power

Take Apart

TakeApart (aka DestructionZone)
Have you noticed how we rarely ever see what's inside our gadgets? Have you ever wanted to combat that trend but didn't know how? Participants in this program will discover amazing things about the products they use every day by pulling them apart, piece-by-piece. This program isn't a presentation but rather a hands-on exploration of the electronics all around us. Additionally, Wondergy can provide a safe area for "electronics therapy," where participants can deconstruct electronics with a baseball bat, rather than a screwdriver. All waste is ethically recycled following the program. Price varies depending on the materials handling.

Topics: End-of-life, electronics recycling, "green" technology
The program focuses on the environmental impacts of electronics when they reach their "end-of-life" and how we can make better corporate and consumer choices to reduce harmful "e-waste."
